Enjoy the beautiful landscape of Toten accompanied by our Icelandic horses

Grytenholm Isigard is a horsefarm with Icelandic horses only, situated in the outskirts of the hills of “Totenåsen” with a magnificent view of Lake Mjøsa.  2002 we bought the farm Grytenholm, which means stoney meadows, and our dream of living with horses came true.  We now  own  a pack of Icelandic horses who roam  about in wide meadows. Our horses enjoy in winter large paddocks, or the can stay in our stables. We also provide a normal riding track in addition to  an Icelandic 200 mts oval track. The beautiful landscape surrounding our farm will give you relaxing and enjoyable trekkings.  During autumn, winter and spring we run a riding school offering riding lessons.  In summer we arrange shorter or longer riding trekkings in smaller groups  of 5 participants.  If you wish to have a private riding lesson to explore the Icelandic horse, we also provide that, as well as yoga lessons combined  with riding, both on individual or group basis.  May be you want to enjøy picking blueberries or wild raspberries from horseback ?  Get acquainted to the Icelandic horse with the at least 5 gaits –Explore the world of the Icelandic horse !

Private riding lessons:  I hour.  Explore the Icelandic horse and the world of gaits…. Individuals or in groups.  Price NOK 350,-.  Whole year.

All our horseback trekkings are conducted by one or two riding guides.  On your arrival we are very much concerned about picking out the right horse for the rider.  Our prices all include renting (and wearing) riding helmets.  When riding, please do not wear sneakers, but shoes with somewhat kind of heels.

Our concern is harmony between man and horse collaborating in the nature, because we might explore wild animals.  We ride in smaller groups and might likely watch moose, deer, hares, grouse and other forest birds. Bears and wolves are rarely seen in our area, but there are lots of cows and sheep pasturing around. We can enjoy tölting around….
